POLICIES

Dress Code

A neat appearance is important in all phases of dance, especially in ballet; therefore, the following dress code will be strictly enforced. All your equipment can be purchased locally at “Patterson’s” in Burlington or “On Your Toes” in Peabody. (Ask for student discount.)

  • BALLET/PREDANCE/TOT: Pink Tights, Pink Ballet Slippers, Black or Colored Leotard, Hair in a bun, and NO SHIRTS ALLOWED.
  • TAP SHOES should be white from Pre-dance 2 to Ballet 3 level. For Novice 1 through the advanced including teens, the tan Capezio tap shoe is preferred. If you are in doubt as to the correct color and style, please call.
  • JAZZ STUDENTS should be in black jazz shoes. NO T-SHIRTS ALLOWED.
  • HIP HOP: comfortable, loose street, or dance clothing. Clean sneakers.

Please note: some classes may require additional shoes and/or tights for recital.

Visitors

Parents are always welcome visitors. We have a wonderful viewing area with one-way mirrors to allow you to observe at your convenience. We also invite parents into the classroom three times a year during “OPEN HOUSE” weeks. Information regarding these dates will be available in the fall newsletter. We must request that you do not bring other small children into the classroom.

Vacation & Cancellations

Our vacations coincide with the Reading School System. We will be closed the week of Thanksgiving and two weeks at Christmas. We also have an “abbreviated” week after our Spring Concert, dates to be announced. SATURDAY and MONDAY CLASSES ARE HELD ON HOLIDAY WEEKENDS, such as Columbus Day, Presidents Day, etc. A monthly schedule is posted on the bulletin board if you are in doubt. We will hold classes unless weather conditions make it absolutely impossible. If it is necessary for us to cancel, your child may take make-up classes at your convenience. If you are in doubt regarding cancellation due to weather, please call the studio. There will always be a recorded message or someone to take your call.

Performance

We will have a demonstration for Tot and Pre-Dance students at the end of May. We will also do a Spring Concert in April that is voluntary and separate from the regular class schedule. Further information is sent home in November.

Summer Classes

Information on summer programs will be sent home in April.

Newsletters

Your child will be bringing home Newsletters every six to eight weeks that will keep you informed. Please take the time to read these letters. If at any time you have questions or concerns regarding your child’s training, please feel free to contact Sue Marroni at 781-944-7039.
